How do you know when your IPOD battery is dead?
I fully charged my ipod this morning and was working fine. Tonight I took it out and I get a blank screen. I plug in the adapter and the apple logo does not show up, just a blank screen. It's been like this for hours now and nothing is happening. Is my battery completely toast and it's time to get a new one? Kinda weird that I got no warning whatsoever and was fully charged this morning working fine. Or is it the ipod itself in need of repairs?

Ipods are nice but they are fairly disposable

Re: How do you know when your IPOD battery is dead?
It's probably not the battery. For one, battery life really hasn't been a problem in the past 3 generations of iPods. Secondly, it it were the battery, it would probably still work, but just for a few seconds.
Try resetting it. I believe you hold down the center button and play at the same time for about 3 seconds. |

just take it to the apple store. It's liek $50 for the insurance and they'll replace it on the spot.

Wow I had no idea you could reset IPODs. Thanks Tron. [/ QUOTE ] Keep in mind that re-setting it is the same as re-formating the hard drive. So, you will lose whatever is on it. I think. |
