Default 5NL QQ am I a nit laying this down here?

Villain is an unknown and this hand occurred early in my session so I had not gotten a chance to see how he plays in certain spots.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (8 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($5.29)
Button ($9.08)
SB ($11.11)
BB ($4.48)
UTG ($5.47)
UTG+1 ($8.27)
MP1 ($18.56)
MP2 ($29.88)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $0.2</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $0.6</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $1.4</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $1.27

Without a read in this situation I usually assume I'm up against an overpair or 2 over cards. Am I being a nit to not at least see the flop here?

You might be a nit, but it's probably smart. I would guess at these limits you are against AA most of the time and the stacks aren't deep enough to set mine.

Not sure how you fold this. 10/10 and J/J are in his range, and also 80c to get his stack if you hit your set when you are behind... I definitely call this.

you would have $3.89 left, villain $4.07, if you called to set mine. Remember 5 and 10 rule for set mining... call if the raise represents 5% or less of remaining stacks, fold if its 10% or more, anything in between is a judgment call. 80c is too much to set mine, so if u call PF you need to do so believing you have the best hand and then commit on a non A/K flop...

There's also the original pot to count for as well. I'm not saying he should try to set mine if he knows he is beat, but you can't forget to add that as ev for the times that he is behind here.
