Dubai = Greatest City in The World?

There are clearly a lot of ways to determine the greatest city in the world, but at the rate it is going, it seems like in 20 years, a lot of people will be agreeing that it deserves this broad title. As long as oil prices stay strong, I can't imagine anything coming close in pure awesomeness.

Yea, because my number 1 criteria for greatest city in the world is how tall their tallest building is.

Yea, so everyone who wants to make a business investment should also consider giving that money to charity.... makes sense

Yeah, from what I've heard from people who have been there is that there's a ton of cool things in the desert, but that the city is fairly dull and soulless. It's like Vegas but nobody is having any fun at all.

There are so many cities that have spent so much money on development and still lack a nice "feel" while there are poor cities that have plenty of it. Whether they get this right or not remains to be seen.

No, but spending on infrastructure might make a better city.

Still, I think they are trying to attract tourists and will do a good job of it.

Yeah, I don't think that i.e. Paris and Vienna would have been so great today if they through history wouldn't have had much money, so it obviously improves the chances, however it often fails.
