I think he is used to getting people to chase bad pitches when he gets ahead in the count. The two Manny walks with the bases loaded were perfect examples.

random craziness - both manny and papis post season SLG% went DOWN tonight.

Combined OPS for the playoffs = 2.122

that, but he was missing his spots a lot early in counts, too. He threw a lot of first pitch fastballs for balls that missed the target by a good margin.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's just fatigue. 240 innings is a lot.

cc missed his spots all night. dunno why. but he was way off tonight. had nothing to do with the sox hitters.

Does he always bring it like 96-98, maybe he was just too excited, they said something about how they like him slower, he has more control.

He was definitely off tonight, but there were some pitches I couldn't believe BOS was taking. Particularly a couple right off the plate.

Is Sabathia a head-case? He's a good pitcher who just seems to flop in critical games. He looked bad vs. Yanks, too, but Indians offense bailed him out of that one...

you're right, if there were just, like, some pylons up there he probably still would have walked in some runs

k, sorry guys. bostons hitters incredible ability to see the ball won the game tonight. they saw cc soul and pushed the ball outside by sheer mentality.
