i watch discovery channel like 6 hours every day. ive seen man vs wild probably like 30 times this month. many repeats. ive only seen survivorman twice i think. obv discovery channel knows which is better.

I have all man vs wild and most survivor man on dvr. Man vs wild is much better. Survivor man is more realistic with no camera crew but then him toting around the cameras takes a lot away it. Having a camera crew follow you is def +ev for the show.

If you've ever climbed on the tounge of a glacier you'd realize that purposefully decending into an ice tunnel is vastly -EV. This advice is clearly just for TV.

Both shows are good, i feel like a lot of the "tips" on MvW are way too advanced/hardcore for someone that is unexperienced.

I dont watch either of these shows to learn how to "survive"

As far as comparing the hosts, Bear was in the SAS + all the other stuff (other posts already have it)
