Given how recent events get more play, I expected someone to say "Barbaro" by now (not that I would).

The Magic Johnson announcement is probably my pick also. I was at that age where I was just out of HS and a huge NBA fan, and it was just stunning. And this was in a time when the perception was that HIV = AIDS = certain death. Hard to comprehend at the time, particularly since he wasn't far from the peak of his career.

I could also see old-timers saying Roberto Clemente or Thurman Munson, but we don't have many of them around here.

very inspirational but i think sad as well because he needed help down the stairs at the end, i got emotional this year too, i used to think i was a tuff city kid, but since i had my baby im an emotional mess

OSU-Michigan '96. Shawn Springs slips and Tai Streets scores a touchdown. No national championship for OSU. Now that's sad. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
