find someone whos good and have them play for you. I suggest trying BBV, thats a common practice over there

Get to know your playbook and which plays work in different situations. Try to figure out his offense early, blitz a lot if hes playing with anyone but the Falcons. Make sure to disguise defense and switch between zone/man often.

I was a top 5 player in 03(ranked like 50th, but 45 of top 50 used gameshark to get undefeated records) same thing for madden 04 where I consider myself to be #2 or possibly even #1, but rank was only around top#50, because of idiots disconnecting and so forth.

Use fb dive out of big sets with a team with 2 good running backs (e.g., the saints) and use the dual hb package and mix in short passes esp. to the flats to either back. Generally when your opponent is better than you you should run the ball and try to milk the clock. If he brings his safeties down just lob the ball deep, and if for some reason he's in zone just throw streaks and pass lead down and manually jump and catch the ball. At least that's what I'd do...
