What would you do if you could start your life over from 19??

I know lots of people that would rather be in debt while young than have any savings at all, figuring that a) their income will rise when older, enabling them to pay off the debts and begin building retirement, and b) no 70-year old ever enjoyed a baller car as much as he would have when 20, etc.

I would go to a different college or none at all.

I would:
- have taken that year off between hs & university and gone to Europe like my mom encouraged me to do (but I didn't do)
- have purchased the Brentwood, CA condo I was in escrow in but backed out because $1100 a month seemed like more than I could afford
- have not gotten married the 1st time

I know a lot of guys who didn't try to bang any girl they could because (a) they hated players/thought it was wrong to just pick up girls for sex or (b) they were waste-of-time relationships or (c) they had incredibly high standards given that they were young, surrounded by hot girls, and had plenty of options or (d) wanted to be in meaningful relationships/believed in fate/believed in waiting for the right person

The reason why debt is bad for most Americans is because they are 55 years old with 1.5x their annual income in 27% APR credit card debt. If your future expected income is vastly higher than your current income you should be in debt to smooth your consumption.

Anyway, my life is a depressing bundle of regrets:
1. Start poker earlier, play poker more. I [censored] around and lost $25 on UB and didn't play again for like 10 months back during the money printing days.
2. Even more than poker, casino whoring. Same goddamn thing, I did like 3 or 4 of the real good bonuses before I inexplicably decided that making $85+ an hour for mindlessly clicking wasn't worth my time. I was inexplicably allowed in on the casino whoring vanguard and squandered that opportunity hard.
3. But most importantly, redo college. Go to class, not have a girlfriend for four goddamn years, go to class, end up at a T14 law school on scholarship instead of paying $30K a year to go to a tier 2 law school. Also I'd already have graduated law school instead of being a student until I'm 28.

I would definitely travel more. I'm only mid 20s but travel is not the same any more. Something about having a lifetime of options (and not knowing a lot about stuff) that makes it much more exciting.

I would have worked at spending more time with people I really liked. When you're 19 and in college you have a crazy social life and heaps to do, it's easy to get caught up in stuff and forget what you want and the kind of people you'll like in the long run. I spent so much time with people who were great to do fun stuff with but were easily forgotten.

Just so this doesn't sound like a lounge post: [censored] more hotties.
