Re: Marginal spot....3b pot top pair
If I 3 bet your hand it's usually because I can play with my whole stack for value on a board like this, or the guy folds to 3 bets almost always and I basically turned my hand into a bad semi-bluff.
I assume this case is the former, fairly easy bet/call turn and if called shove all rivers, (C/F an A i guess?) As played I'd CRAI shove the turn. (your hand really sucks but o well the pot is too big) But before that I would most likely smooth call PF. |

I don't really like rr preflop with KQ without planning to play for stacks on a flop like this, esp oop. So i don't rr unless it's against someone I actually can play for stacks against here. Generally (and vs this player specifically) I don't rr and I don't mind just calling. |

I hear what youre saying about pf, but dont you think its pretty weak to be foldign KQ vs a co opener, especially when i have the advantage of no prior history, so he shouldnt think im out of line. Are people advocating folding pre? I just think thats a little too weak, and i hate calling. [/ QUOTE ] You should really work on your ego. The hand's gonna just give you a ton of problems since you're OOP and you have no idea what hands he calls 3-bets with and you don't know how he plays in 3-bet pots. Do you really think an unknown is gonna call your 3-bet with KJ? Otherwise you're dominated when called, or maybe you win the pot with a c-bet if he calls with a SC or a low/med PP. You're just never gonna win a big pot here without flopping broadway vs set or some crazy set-up flop. I would either call preflop here with intention of c/r most flops, or just dump it pre. |

Re: Marginal spot....3b pot top pair
3-betting KQo FOR VALUE is completely fine, and when you've flopped a K with no A, you have the nuts. but if you think you have a marginal hand after flopping a K (either because you're weak or because he's v tight), then you're just throwing away money and i'd call instead. i can't fathom folding
