Re: i call. jack.
my thinking was thus: if he didn't have an ace, king, 9, queen or 6 (almost definately no ace or king or a pocket pair because he didn't raise pre flop) then I was ahead.
of course, this was read dependant. the hand immediately before this i saw him bet on the river, and the other guy folded. i thought he was making a LAG play on me. of course he made three pair by the river and knew i knew that he knew that i knew he knew that i knew he would know that if he bet on the river i would call with jack high hoping to take the pot down. unfortunately i didn't think about 6th level metagame deception, otherwise I would have folded. my real aim in the hand was to flop a straight flush, which is why i didn't fold pre flop. |

Re: i call. jack.
I once called my friend's river bluff with 10high, he had J high, and he bet the pot on the river. It was in a $5 HU game and I honestly thought I had him beat. (He raised pf, bet flop, checked turn, bet river)

Re: i call. jack.
You need to try cap on every street so that you have odds to call the river.
