SnG Party Poker points (new upgrade)
I just read that SnG players will not be able to accumulate points as fast as prior to the 'upgrade'. I'm at work so I can't check, but can someone confirm this?
I know many of you could care less about the point system but I'm kind of bummed if this is the case. |

Re: SnG Party Poker points (new upgrade)
You get 2 points for every $1 you spend in rake. (So I think this is actually an improvement for $33.)
However, Party has discontinued all their bonus points (weekly activity, monthly activity, deposit, and happy hour) starting August 16. (This is really annoying since I just made a deposit on the 10th.) In the "category" graphic on their web site, it looks like you need 6000 now to get to Silver and 16000 to get to Gold. |

Re: SnG Party Poker points (new upgrade)
I've been waiting for my stress dice for 8 weeks now.
BTW there was a thread on this earlier. With the new "red carpet" promo you earn two points with every 1$ in rake. So that add ups to 5% unmentionable. Oh wait. I quess I can say RB here. |

Re: SnG Party Poker points (new upgrade)
Kev,
That is what I am hearing, although I still cannot access this information thru their website yet. Here is the answer I got from VIP early this morning. "Below is how we will be awarding points for playing in tournaments: Two (2) PartyPoints are awarded for each $1 in tournament fees paid For example, if you play in a $22 ($2 fee) poker tournament, you will be awarded Four (4) PartyPoints." I know many of the high-volume, high stakes players here won't care, as you referenced, but I am pretty upset about this. The changes, I was told in a later correspondence "The new PartyPoint structure is in effect as of 16th August 2006. " This means that yesterday I played 42 $11s for what I thought was 126 points, which put me over 100 pts each day in August for the $300 Summer Sizzler bonus. Now instead, since they put in a new secret points plan, I only gained 84 points for that play and (at the most) can only make $150 from the Bonus, if I even continue to play there. It may sound stupid to some, but this may be the last straw for me. It almost sickens me to open the Party cleint. They care nothting about their players. Les (didn't mean to hijack!) |

Re: SnG Party Poker points (new upgrade)
Well, no "happy hour" kind of sucks.
As far as a thread on this already (sorry) I thought it came w/ the new upgrade and not the red carpet deal, which I didn't see. I'll search now. |

Re: SnG Party Poker points (new upgrade)
Les,
Thanks a lot for the detailed response... and yes that really does suck! Seriously, what is going on over there? Was it really necessary for them to downgrade this for the lower stakes player? |

Re: SnG Party Poker points (new upgrade)
How can they change the rules in the middle of the summer sizzle promo? The whole thing is points based.
(of course I know they are idiots and thats how they can do it) |

Re: SnG Party Poker points (new upgrade)
Most recent actual correspondence with Party bozos.
<<<Dear Les, Thank you for contacting customer care. I am very sorry you feel this way about our new points structure, we have changed this system so that the majority of our players have a better points system than before. I can fully understand that this is working as a hindrance to yourself but there is nothing we can do in ways of changing the new system. If you require any further assistance you are more than welcome to contact us again. Kind Regards Wayne VIP Customer Care >> |
