They should be at the Trinity-Wesleyan game instead... that way they could showcase Heisman candidate Joe Clark.

2 - I'm already familiar with teams where a whole bunch of the players don't have the slightest chance of going pro for the most part. Tonight Central Michigan plays Western Michigan out of the Mid-American conference for example.

Greg Jennings, among others, wishes you would pick on teams other than Directional Michigan.

Most of the players in the CMU vs. WMU game will not be playing professionally.

The fact that you can name one or more guys from these schools who DO play professionally does not change this.

I'm actually not Joe Clark... but I am the Chairman for the Joe Clark for Heisman campaign. We'll be sending up some representatives to Williamstown with Joe Clark for Heisman signs, t-shirts, etc.

Best of luck to you against the Jeffs. I think you'll handle them easily.

No kidding, and in other news, water is wet. The same exact thing can be said of every single school in the country, including LSU, USC and Florida. In fairness, though, CMU and WMU do have several players in the NFL.

Now, I'll say it again: Please to be picking on someone other than Directional Michigan, you freaking graduate of Miami University of Somewhere That's Not Miami.

it just happened to be the game that's on tonight.
Pretty sure that a lot of the players on both teams also love playing the game but the rhetoric is for the even smaller college guys who evidently TRULY love to play the game or whatever.

Miami University is in the Miami Valley in Ohio.
There are about a zillion other aspects of that area that are named after the Miami tribe including Miamisburg, New Miami, Little Miami River, etc etc.

Miami, Florida was named after the Miami tribe that was in the Ohio/Indiana area. The guy who named Miami, FL liked how it sounded.

So it's the university in Ohio that truly has some reason to be named Miami whereas the larger city in Florida should really be considered as being, "somewhere that is not Miami."

Note to self: If you think you've made an obviously tounge-in-cheek over the top BBV-style post, think again. It isn't fair to make Microbob look up facts about Ohio to rebut your "point", he's probably busy enough 19-tabling and simul-posting in 27 different 2+2 fora.

Sigh.

Edit: I'm pretty sure Miami, FL is named after the Keith Whitley song "Miami, My Amy", so you're probably right MB. I didn't do much research for this post tho.
