I use a dealer button -- literally off the shirt of a dealer. However, other dealers kept giving me buttons, and now I have six. If the luck stops, they go into my pocket and I use a chip from my stack.

Who cares if card protectors are cool or not or if you use them or not? Personal choice. I think the creative ones are fun, though. I like a lively table with interesting people.

I have a habit of using the biggest denomination chip in my stack to cover the cards, i do this about 90% of the time. When i do bring a card protector of my own I use a poker chip, same size and weight as normal ones. Its black with a purple snake on it and around the outsides it says "poker pimp" also in purple...

I have a 1879 Morgan silver dollar and a 1936 5 Reichmark piece that I use depending on my mood at the time.
