Default NL 50: JJ... this is standard yes?

Just sat... first hand no reads. This hand seems straight forward and it is, but I want to revelate my basics in my current downswing.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed) internettexasholdem.com

MP2 ($9.80)
Hero ($50)
Button ($59.15)
SB ($29.50)
BB ($37.30)
UTG ($75.85)
UTG+1 ($49.75)
MP1 ($23.20)

Preflop: Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $0.50.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 raises to $2</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero (poster) raises to $7</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, UTG+1 calls $5.

Flop: ($14.75) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
UTG+1 checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $8</font>, UTG+1 calls $8.

Turn: ($30.75) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
UTG+1 checks, Hero checks.

River: ($30.75) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 bets $20</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $50.75

It is for me if I reraise preflop which I don't do to an unknown UTG+1 raiser.

no he doesn't. The man is like 3.5 pfr. This looks fine although I usually lead flop for like $10.

I would bet more on the flop, you want to get rid of PP's that beat you.
I would also bet a little less pre. I think it gets the same message across and it will also make it cheaper for you to make a closer to PSB on flop

Bet more on the flop.

Its hard to give advice after that since its such a terrible bet.

Betting half the pot in a heads up cbet (3 bet preflop) situation is bad. On drawless board?

edit: ok its not completle drawless but s str8 draw is not really in his range here.
