Default Scratch Palace Station & Red Rock as fish heaven?

I played at Palace Station & Red Rock last weekend and its tough, got free rooms at Palace Station and lost $50 playing $4-$8, I was up then this old guy joined our table and started hitting the flop like crazy, hitting wheel and flushes, Oh well that's poker, lots of check raisers in this casinos, no fish here.

I think there is a saying about when you don't notice the fish.

I didn't know the Speedway had a Poker room.

I played $100 a hand Blackjack there once and the pit boss called a security gaurd over to watch my back.

They don't. They used to have 2 tables in the pit, was one the last time I ventured up that way.

Hips - I hate to say it but with an OP like the one you posted your encouraging responses like Photoc's. Around here we encourage users to expose errors and untruths; self weighted actualizations are frowned upon. With few exceptions most good players would think the 4/8 games at the rooms you discussed are soft, hence someone is bound to say something that you will find derogatory about your opinion since it flies counter to the opinion of respected players on 2+2. In situations like that its best to just buckle up and come along for the ride, perhaps you can learn something - which is the ultimate 2+2 goal.

Maybe the OP was comparing the 4/8s played in Vegas to the Haw Gardens 4/8 games?

OP-What does lots of Check Raisers mean to you anyways? Just curious

[Note I was not the one that bumped this stupid thread]

I played 4-8 at three different tables tonight and every one of them consisted of retarded monkey flinging poo around. Methinks your sample size is a tad inadequete. The 4-8 there is plenty soft, not generally as soft as the strip, but plenty soft.
The 8-16 on some very rare occasions can be very tough, but usually is just as easy as the 4-8.
