The neighbor just left a message on my machine saying that she fixed any part of the fence that seemed loose. She also reiterated something she told my wife, that the dog is not mean to people (mean to animals, yes, but apparently not mean enough yesterday). She offered to bring the dog over on a leash so that we can meet it and see that it is actually nice.

She then apologized profusely.

I don't know if we'll take her up on the offer, but at least she's not some douche neighbor who denies responsibility. I at least appreciate her trying to remedy the situation, unlike the cul-de-sac neighbor.

And I just saw that another neighbor bought/rented one of those big drum bbq smokers, so I suppose if anything happens again, that would be a good solution.

If you have another problem with the pit bull, just mix up a healthy batch of dog treats and rat poison and toss it over the fence. You're a poor excuse for a father if you do anything less. Your child's life is at the least one million times more important than your stupid, irresponsible neighbor's love for her dog.

I'd bet the pit bull was male. You sure they didn't get secretly married?

Also, go with the taser. Mace may miss?

If the dog came after my family, I might be able to restrain myself from beating it to death (if possible) but I'd go flying in after the owner next.

Yeah, good luck with that plan. I think the results would be a dead father. They are pretty much all muscle and even a small pit could rip your hand right off.
