without a girlfriend or other time constraint i would say 6 classes, as long as 1 or 2 of them only met once a week. that still leaves room for a few hours of grindin a night, and time for drinkin on the weekend.

i generally do 5 classes, and have plenty of time for poker/parties.

I only take 3-4 classes a semester but all of them are 4-5 credits so instead of going by number of classes taken I would say you could take 15 credits a semester and still have plenty of time for other stuff.

Depends on class level.

As an undergrad, I took up to 18 hours (6 classes) going twice a week, while working 15-20 hours, with no trouble.

As a grad student, more than 3 classes is asking for trouble (I did a MSCS in two semesters and was COMPLETELY burned out at the end of it; had to take a couple years off school before I could go back for the PhD)

18 credits or so, really depends on what you are studying and how much you have to actually study

Did 18 credits this quarter (first quarter of college for me) and got A+ A A- B in my 4 credit classes and a B in my 2 credit class. Did almost no work. Took hardest level of each class possible i.e. musicianship for music majors, math for science/engineering, went to class pretty rarely.

Doing 20credits next quarter, will probably be 24 in spring if this is super easy again.

Im a senior in engineering. The most I will take is 15-16 engineering credits. Anymore than that is just suicide and it cuts back on fun..

I think 4-5 classes if 3 credits or so a piece. I took 5 went A, A, A, A, C (missed B by 0.7%)

16 hours taken,
2 upper level math, 2 upper level econ, 1 lower level history, 1 quick 1 hour math class

Made all As, with +/- in effect.

If I actually had the patience to grind out 12-15 hours of work in trivial subjects, I could probably take up to 24 hours of 1000 level intro classes. But math alone took 12-15 hours a week, and I think I spent about as little time on those classes as humanly possible.
