just curious, how much do good players win on average in a month? say with a 10000 bankroll? cheers

If you're a decent 2/4 player with a 10k roll you could do pretty well. Say you're making a relatively modest 2.5bb/100 at NL400, that's $10 per hundred hands, per table. That's not at all unreasonable playing 3 or 4 tables.

Or, you could go the robot route and play like 8 or 12 tables of a lower limit. Whatever floats your boat. Just make sure you figure out how to beat the game first.

If your win rate is that low, then having only 25 buy-ins is very aggressive.

comfort = bankroll * win rate / standard deviation^2

If your bankroll is $10k, your win rate is $10/100, and SD is a conservative $300/100, then your comfort level is 1.1. Most people want a comfort level from 2 to 4.

Again, while that player may want 50+ buy-ins, a microstakes player who wins at a much higher win rate may be quite safe with 15 buy-ins. Doubling your win rate cuts your bankroll requirements in half.
