Default Wii straps \"recalled\"

Looks like Nintendo is owning up to their strap issue, and is replacing 3.2 million straps. If you have an original version of the strap you need to complete a form. Once the replacement strap has shipped you will receive an email from the company. They say on the site they expect to start shipping the straps by Dec. 21 and it will take five to nine days for delivery.

And a link to the Nintendo form that you need to fill out is here:

What's to prevent someone from getting four straps with only one controller?

Thanks for the heads-up... Nintendo sure made it painless to get new ones. It took less than a minute.

Well, I have 2 WiiMotes and I requested 3 straps. Shady, I guess, but I don't think the extra straps will put them out of business. If they want to charge me an extra dollar, that's just fine.

Do you guys even use the straps for games besides Wii Sports? I guess there's no reason not to get the new ones, as I'm sure that more games in the future will require more violent movments, but in every other game I've played the necessary motion is so subtle that I can't imagine the remote flying out of anyone's hand.

I wear it for all games for two reasons:

1. The strap kinda gets in the way if it's not on my wrist.

2. I want to be in the habit of wearing the strap, like a seatbelt, so bad things don't happen for stupid reasons.
