Re: 5/10 top pair, Is this an easy fold, or too tight?
In this case I usually bet out the Turn, if he has a low [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] he may even fold. If I get raised I would usually fold. This solves the river problem.

I'm sorry I read the action wrong, I thought villian raised your flop bet and then checked the turn. I change my answer to I would bet the turn and the river if not raised.

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I surprised that everyone likes the turn the check. I would bet/fold this turn pretty much every time - seems like a straightforward application of the clarkmeister theorem. [/ QUOTE ] Then bet/fold the river? [/ QUOTE ] I assume you mean if we bet the turn and get called? That's a sticky situation and I can see arguments for bet/folding, check/calling, and check/folding. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, if we get called on the turn, what are we supposed to do on the river? It seems to me like there is no good plan for the river action once we're called on the turn. [/ QUOTE ] This isn't a reason not to bet the turn, though. And it's not like checking the turn made the river any easier to play. For what it's worth, I think if we bet and are called on the turn (and I do advocate a bet on the turn), the river is a pretty straightforward check/fold against most opponents. -McGee |
