Card Player Coverage Sucks

Why is it that they are only showing chip counts of famous players and actors (I could give two sh#t's about Norm McDonalds chip stack) this year.

No average joe chip counts unless they make it to the final table.

The website is also not very "user friendly" this year.

It's not players are walking around wearing nametags... they just don't know who most people are. What can they do?

Agreed,last year's coverage was light years better.This year's commercialized sellout to Full Tilt really sucks.

In event 1 (Casino Employees) they came around and asked us our names and where we were from when they took a chip count.

They have toned down the "Player X plays at Fulltiltpoker.net" shills quite a bit.

Somewhat tough criticism IMO, as when listening to an All-In hand on the Sirius/Bluff coverage, CP reported the hand description less than five minutes later.

Why would they bother posting the chip counts of unknown players? How many people actually care about having the counts of a thousand players that nobody has heard of in Day 1 of an event? If your friend is in the tournament, then they can call you on their cell and give you chip count updates. Don't expect Card Player to pay someone to do this for you.

The chip counts are far more complete and up-to-date this year than they were last year, although the interface is a little more difficult to use.

The chip updates seem a tad better.

The play by play coverage is so bad I almost wish they would just stop and give chip/bustout updates only.

Video coverage is worse this year, Deeb's daughter is so bad I actually look foward to seeing Belsky.
Huff and Belsky show is a complete trainwreck, bring back Jesse May and Padraig Parkinson.
The Mouth running around acting like a fool, suprise suprise not even remotely entertaining.

Can someone build a more unfunctional website please.

I find it sad they claim to have 40+ people covering this for them, so far its been horrendous.

From the $2500 NL short-handed updates I've seen today we're getting hand by hand coverage of Gavin Smith and nobody else. I guess Card Player sold its soul to Full Tilt. There are other players in the tourney. Negreanu and Hachem are somewhat famous (sarcasm) and Gavin Griffin and Mike Goodman are in there too with about 20 players left. That is only four tables and they only have six players at each! I'm looking elsewhere for tourney updates.

Card Player only sold part of its soul to Full Tilt. Allegedly (reading from Gutshot), CP paid Harrah's 1.6m for exclusive live update rights. FT paid CP 600k to piggyback on the updating.
