Another AK question
What do you do when your EP raise with AK is re-raised by someone in LP?
Do you flat call out of poisition an try to flop an A/K? If so, don't the reverse implied odds make it an incorrect call? Do you 3-bet, building a large pot out of position, with an un-made hand? Or do you fold like a nit? I understand it does depond on villian a lot an how aggresive he is PF, but for this situation we will assume he is a standard TAG. |

Re: Another AK question
This partly depends on your image as well, but if we assume we have a solid image against a standard TAG I often fold. It's very unlikely he is 3betting you with anything you beat.
Of course it also depends on the amount of the raise. I assumed it was 3-4x your raise. |

Re: Another AK question
depends on your image plus villian and the range you put villian on. If its a weak re raise, say min i call and check out a flop. If it is standard 3x-4x raise and the villian is a tag and you know isnt making a play i feel folding is better.
If he is 3- betting w/ ak any flop bet he makes w/out a A or K hell be picking up with a cbet. If they have a pp lower than aces or kings even if you flop a ace or king there not going any further when you put pressure on them. Its a tough hand to play oop against a good solid tag. Plus you could be up against AA or KK and not looking good at all. Against a LAG that has been 3 betting you alot you can always 4 bet/call and see a flop. |
