A small mistake? - $77 bubble
PartyPoker, Big Blind is t665 (4 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com
CO (t2700) Hero (t11035) SB (t5575) BB (t690) Preflop: Hero is in Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] CO folds, Hero raises to t6678, SB folds Flop: (t7743) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Turn: (t7743) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) River: (t7743) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) I think my mistake here was pushing preflop. I dont see it as a huge mistake, however I think the folowing play would have been better. 1. PF limp, flop min bet, turn min bet, river all in (Regardless of my final hand). The SB didnt like my push, so I am sure he would have hated the above play. So, which play is better here, or is there another option? |

How is big blind t665? Also I'm assuming BB called here and you lost?
I don't think push is bad. You get a nice overlay from SB and if BB loses you can still own the bubble. (IE - bully the medium stacks who don't want to bust before the shorties) But I'd really need to see the real blinds and chip counts to know for sure. |

Re: A small mistake? - $77 bubble
No, he folded, I won the hand. The HH convertor's dont work for me, maybe im doing something stooopid. The BB was all in so maybe thats why the convertor showed the Big bet as 665.
Is the limp,bet,bet,all-in play also ok? assuming the sb comes along for the ride. |

Re: A small mistake? - $77 bubble
Shakespeare, the limp line is basically the same with the very slight chances that sb hits a monster or is bad/loose and is willing to call you (bad) or sb goes along with your plan and flops a mediocre hand that he'll give you 1600 with and then fold to your river push not wanting to bubble.
Given that it isn't that rare for those stacks to raise on bubble w/ super shorty and call pushes with hands like AT (awful), I don't think it's that unlikely for him to hit something and not be able to fold even though he should. Conclusion: Take free sb chips and good hand against BB and push. As others have said you can still bully after this if you lose. PS: Alternative is to limp and check down. I prefer this. |
