Default So I was just canned by pokerstars.

I'll outline the situation as it happened.

Earlier today I decided that I would like my image on my avatar changed and as I'm sure you are all aware you cannot do it again once you have set it once.

The email I sent was this.

I was wondering if you could please please please reset the ability to set an image on my pokerstars account (ZacGTN).

I'm really unhappy with my choice. I understand you issue us with one change but I would really be thankfull if you could allow me the option to change it to something more interesting.

Thanks in advance.

Zac Duncan

To which I received a reply

Hello Zac,

Before we proceed, It has come to our attention that you may have two
PokerStars accounts.

It is against our rules to play with more than one account.

It appears that ZacGTN and Dettol-Man belong to the same person. If this is
not true, please provide us with an explanation and your relation to this
player. If they are both your accounts, please let us know and we will take
appropriate action.

Regards,

Charles

Now this account hasn't been logged into in probably 9 months and I forgot what the email / username was on it so I made a new one (ZacGTN) in January. I have never, ever, logged into both at the same time nor have I logged into them consecutively.

I replied with this

Sorry yes they are both my account but I totally forgot about the Dettol-Man account. I would totally understand if you wish to close the Dettol-Man account.

Once again sincerest apologies. You can look in the records and see that they were never logged on together so you know I'm not colluding.

To which they replied

Hello Zac,

We have received your email and I will forward your inquiry to the
appropriate department. They will get back to you later today with more
information.

Now, bare in mind if I hadn't requested an image change this email exchange would never have happened (The ZacGTN account has been active since January 2007).

I then received this email about an hour later (at which time I was about to burst the bubble on a 30k guaranteed tournament in top top 5 in chips with a first place payout of 10,000$.

Hello Zac,

Your account has been closed. Please find an alternative site to play
poker.

I was moved tables and the account showed my name as "disconnected". Upon trying to sign back in I am greeted with this message.

So now I am unable to access the funds in my account or go on to win the money in the tournament. I do not understand why they would abuse a pretty high volume rake / tournament fee paying member over what is obviously insignificant and stupid.

Opinions on their reaction would be appreciated.

I had a similiar situation. I played with one account forever, then moved and forgot about it. When I decided to start playing again, I made a new account. Later I found some emails I'd saved reguarding my first account. I made first contact to pokerstars about the incident, they closed my old account and never gave me trouble. They were even nice enough to credit my current account with FPPs that were left unused in my first account.

I don't know why they decided to nail you to the cross...

This post is an obvious fake. They wouldnt confiscate your funds. They also wouldnt tell you to play somewhere else, they would have closed the old account and that would have been that.

go troll somewhere else please

Stars believes you have done something much more serious than you have told us.

If you truly do not know what the problem is then I recommend that you politely write back and ask why they are doing this.

Don't say things you can't take back and start a war. You can always do that later if you want. For now assume that there has been an honest misunderstanding and try to work it out without bloodshed.

This is absolutely not fake and you can look up the account name ZacGTN.

I will forward any emails to anybody who disbelieves this post. The real trolls on this forum are people who scream fake post when anything out of the blue or dis ordinary happens.

your only chance of getting a happy resolution is if:

a) what you say is true

and

b) you convince pokerstars to be nice to you

there's nothing that others can do for you.

I just thought I'd point out to anyone else thinking of requesting something from pokerstars who might have an year old totally inactive account laying around somewhere.

Maybe they'll send you a check for your balance on your most recently active account. And you broke their rules, which while it sucks and seems trivial, is something they can cite.

When I went back to Stars I just e-mailed them at the start that I had lost all information on my account. Some faxes and a phone call later (about 36 hours total process time) they had changed the account so I could access it. Considering what I was asking, access control to a dormant yet live money account, I thought 36 hours was a good turn around time.

By chance did you take the first time deposit bonus on the second account?

Why would they look for an excuse to kick an honest player off the site? It's not like OP is going to sue for unemployment. It benefits Stars to have the honest player around, not have him gone.

My money is on the position that there is something else here we aren't being told. I'd love to give OP the benefit of the doubt, but that goes to Stars. The site has much more credibility than OP -- at least at the moment.

I will gladly retract that upon further evidence.
