Default 3/6 NL -- kinda deep river check vs fish.

villian is 40/14 and pretty aggro/bad.

i chose to cr flop because he is gettin annoyed w/ me and it was a good way to inflate the pot.

River: ($945) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)

he has ~500 on river. i think he will shove a 10 here if i check and this allows him to bluff whiffed draws.

thoughts on this as opposed to shoving?

i think you make more value betting JJ or A9 or whatever pair he wants to look you up with since all draws bricked off. there's no guarantee he shoves half pot with a whiffed draw if you check. with half pot stacks you have to be pretty sure he'll bluff to not bet since you'll get looked up so lightly

Honestly I just push the turn here often... given that he is annoyed with you.

If he will shove a ten here the he will call off a ten here as well. Is his range polarized to T/FD?

I like it. I think you do a lot better going for the checkraise here. IMO, it's very very rare a 40/15 aggro/bad who's annoyed with you passes up the chance of bluffing you in a $1000 pot when it's been checked to him on a river scare card for what looks like you're overpair.

A9 is the only hand you maybe losing value from but that's is def. over weighed by missing draws here.

This is good.

He shoves a ten because he thinks he sucked out against an overpair and wants to double up (in his mind) or he shoves because he realizes he put in a lot of money and that he can potentially bluff the ten in the hopes that hero was drawing or will be scared by the ten.

I like it a lot.

if you had like 1200 left on the river I would like it, i don't really see why to do it with 500 left though as it seems more likely he has a worse made hand he will call a shove with and also check behind than he has a missed draw that he decides to bluff 1/2pot with
