Hate naps. I always wake up from them disoriented, drenched in sweat, and seemingly more tired than before.

Im with mia on this one, not to mention the fact that it tastes like I ate poo after one.

do a search on polyphasic/monophasic sleep patterns and the effects of naptimes for the groundbreaking conclusions.

I like long sleeps (2-3hrs) but am physically aware the 30-60min ones refresh me better.

I often take 2-3 naps if I didn't get enough sleep earlier the day or a couple days earlier in the week and I only initially feel groggy; after that I feel great.

I've never taken 15-30 min naps though. How would I wake myself up?

Cell phone alarm works for me. Otherwise, you can just take your nap in a public place. You usually won't get that comfortable and if there is enough noise, you won't sleep that long. Sleeping in my car is a good one as is just putting my head down on my desk at work. Someone walks by every few minutes, and that is enough to startle me awake.

That's a lot of risk. If I keep sleeping or sleep too much then I get raped for whatever else I have to do.

I've always taken naps. They're great. Sometimes I slip into a cycle of sleeping in two 4hr. chunks, usually around 3-7am and 3-7pm. Most of the time I sleep about 6hrs at nite and take a 2hr nap in the afternoon. Every time I try to adapt to a 'normal' sleep schedule I find that I'm just way too tired by the evening and I just slip back into my napping schedule.
