Unless he is a spew monkey, people don't tend to c/r this board without top pair beat. I'm not sure what you where hoping to accomplish with the 3-bet.

If he had AQ make a note.

I don't like it. You 3 bet pf and the guy check raises the Ace flop. I start calling from there.

I must admit that I dont see villain c/r the flop with a worse hand.

I also would not have raised the river.

For everyone saying not to 3-bet the flop, does no one think Villain can check/raise with AJ/AT/any other ace/KQ, like ever?

It's not that they can't Nix, they could c/r with anything here, it's that 3-banging a c/r with tptk isn't a good default play against unknowns.

I think the difficulty is that villain is unknown and we dont have a read.

I suppose my default would be to treat unknowns at low stakes as loose passives until shown otherwise.

In which case, I would not expect a loose passive to play AJ,AT or KQ that way.

If we knew that villain was agressive, then I think that it would become more likely for him to raise pf and c/r the flop with AJ,AT and perhaps weaker Aces. Not sure whether KQ would be likely to play that way though.
