Should I live in the dorms next semester?

Alright, some background info: I'm 19 and lived with my girlfriend for the last 3 semesters in an apartment. I like the privacy and the space, but I also feel kind of disconnected from a lot of the kids I've actually met at school. Well, I no longer have a gf. I still have the lease for this semester, but I need to know whether or not to apply for a dorm next semester.

I have a lot of [censored] in my apartment... so I'd have to lose a lot of things I've grown to love.

I'll post some more later, I just want to hear some thoughts and past experiences... especially if anyone has gone from living in an apartment to living in a dorm. Feel free to ask some questions that would help you help me make the best choice [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Try to get a single dorm. Living with a guy you don't know sucks.

I would keep the apartment and just try to go out more and try to get back in touch with people.

with what superuber said, i knew a lot of people who hated living with a stranger, but sometimes it's not such a bad idea to get to meet other people. However, it seems u already have some friends, so maybe a single isn't a bad idea...just saying, doubling up is not always a bad thing...

Well, I won't be getting the 3 person dorm that is smaller than the smallest bedroom in my apartment... that's for sure.

Get a dorm for sure, even if it's with randoms. Dorm life is the best experience of your life.

My advice is to definitely get a dorm room. I lived off-campus for the first two years of college and on campus for my junior and senior years, and it was great. It's something that you should absolutely do at least once.

Thanks, this is something I wanted to hear. Now it's time to do some research so I don't get a [censored] dorm.

Living in the dorms was one of the best experiences of my life. You gotta try it once. Live with a stranger and meet all his friends and meet all your floormates.

At my school we have brand new (2004) on campus apartments...so it is like the dorms but with much more space and no [censored] dining hall food...If you could do that I would highly recomend it
