kay just said that joba is a "guy with once in a generation type stuff" and that hughes is more of just a "nice pitcher." i mean hughes is good, but you know, he doesnt have joba type stuff, hes just a nice pitcher. joba has jumped the shark!

Does Kay know that being able to air it out for one inning in a relief role typically adds a few mph to your fastball?
I'd like to see Hughes air it out at 95-96 for an inning at a time, and hear what Kay has to think.

Could you please explain your comparison between Clemens and Hughes? I am a huge Hughes fan, but I see them as having distinctly different approaches.

i knew that somehow kay would eventually take the fun out of watching hughes and joba pitch. after 9 IP, joba is now the gold standard of young pitchers who has once in a generation stuff. He is actually saying stuff about how we shouldnt compare other pitchers to him, just utter stupidity. 9 IP!!! And hughes, who has pitched roughly 40 IP in the majors, most of which were after an injury, you know, hes a nice pitcher, but you cant put him on the same scale as joba.
