Gee, thanks Al. I guess we should look beyond those three homers in four innings (given one was a pop up down the line).

Could you please explain your comparison between Clemens and Hughes? I am a huge Hughes fan, but I see them as having distinctly different approaches.

i knew that somehow kay would eventually take the fun out of watching hughes and joba pitch. after 9 IP, joba is now the gold standard of young pitchers who has once in a generation stuff. He is actually saying stuff about how we shouldnt compare other pitchers to him, just utter stupidity. 9 IP!!! And hughes, who has pitched roughly 40 IP in the majors, most of which were after an injury, you know, hes a nice pitcher, but you cant put him on the same scale as joba.

[/ QUOTE ] Well I think I speak for Michael Kay when I say that if you believe in the predetermined outcome, then the Yankees could have started Joba and those 9 innings would have been a complete game 3-hit shutout. <font color="white">And the other team would have forfeited due to several illegal lineup substitutions. </font>
