Default Done w/ Stars?

I've have had this much "standard variance" on FTP or Party where it is consistently the following formula:
Step 1: Upswing
Step 2: Cashout 3 times
Step 3: Commence Downswing
Step 4: Buy back 3 times total
Step 5: End Downswing, start back at Step 1

HH's to follow if my [censored] OTracker ever opens a goddamn HH this hour. Needless to say, I'm in a blind [censored] rage right now dropping 75bb at 2/4.

Do they ever chase the 2nd nut low and not turn a set to my flopped 2p/gutty???

Do they ever not turn trips->river boat to my flopped TPTK,NFD,Gut,overssdjnbdjfnrdjkfnrjkfngjko? I mean call a flop bet w/ bottom pair HU, it was a raised pot preflop . . . you've got odds to the backdoors!!!

Oh, and I can't tell you how many [censored] times in the past 10 days I've flopped two pair to the pfr's flopped set. Clearly you should get into the habit of folding 2 pair on a dry flop, b/c they'll never have A+ low draw, it will ALWAYS, ALWAYS be the top set.

Oh, and raise the EP better with AAxx on a Q,J,9,4 flop b/c he doesn't put you on Aces, but the board will pair one of his non-fill cards.

I am officially the FGators of LO8 on Stars.

Default Re: Done w/ Stars?

Gobias - Maybe it’s just a matter of being a bit too impatient sometimes. Maybe it’s a matter of actually sometimes thinking more clearly than other times.

I noticed it first when I was taking a graduate course in physics. The instructor assigned problems at the end of each class session. I procrastinated doing them until it was fairly late in the evening, and then finally decided to do them and get it over with. But I couldn’t do the first two problems and didn’t even read the rest. The problems I read were simply impossibly difficult for me. As you can imagine, it was very depressing. I wondered what would happen to me and went to bed in that disheartened frame of mind.

The next morning I arose and looked at the problems again. There was some little trick to the first one, and the second also had a little trick to it. The night before, I hadn’t seen the little tricks – but then in the morning, I did. And then the rest of the problems, the ones I hadn’t even read, all fell into place too. And all was well.

There’s a hearts game on one of my older computers. Sometimes when I try it, I win a dozen times in a row. Other times I cannot win once. It’s not the programming for the game. It’s my own brain! Sometimes I am able to think clearly and creatively – while other times it’s as though I don’t have access to part of my brain. When I’m not sharp, I’m somehow unaware of it. It’s like I’ve forgotten something and don’t realize what I’ve forgotten.

Anyhow, sometimes when I play poker I’m very aware of everything that is happening. Other times, without really realizing it at the time, I’m not. When I’m aware, I can see how to win and I win. Other times I don’t win – and I surmise that I must not be thinking as clearly or quickly as when I win. Sometimes I can sort of see it – like I’ll do something and then an instant later realize I should have done something else. And sometimes I’ll feel drowsy. But usually I’m simply not particularly aware that I’m not playing at my best.

But the indication that maybe I’m not thinking clearly enough to be playing is crystal clear. I’ll be losing. (I figure it might be the particular mixture of opponents I’m facing, or it might be my own consciousness is not accessing all the information and thought processes in my own brain).

I’ll always want to turn it around, to keep playing until I’m ahead. And sometimes I’ve been able to do that. But by and large, when I’m down a couple of buy-ins, it’s time to quit for the day.

And I suggest you try that approach too. Set your stop/loss very shallow. If you play in a casino, don’t take more than a couple of buy-ins with you. If you play at home, have the self-discipline to quit when you’re down a couple of buy-ins. And then you can’t get hurt badly.

I have about a 3500 game sample for plo8 hu.. my biggest downswing is about 12 buy ins, longest break even is like 350 sngs. avg roi just under 10%, not sure how that compares to NL, I haven't played more than 100-150 of those heads up.

The bs never stops at Pokerstars. Just put all your money in preflop with A2, and you will be rewarded.

Ummmmm, u serious here? He thought he had a DS-ed (and I mean "Dead Sexy" not Double-Suited) A,2,3,x here. Turns out one of his suits was dead.

Although preflop odds in plo8 are about as useful as my sister's wooden leg in an ass-kciking contest, let's twodime it anyway:
