The Legend of Zelda Thread (NES)
This game is amazing. I don't anyone can deny it's greatness. It was the only reason why I purchased a Game Boy Advance, so I could play it after the NES died. Everything about the game is so simple and straightforwardthat it makes it so good. It still is has some challenging moments, even for the more experienced gamers. Probably the only bad part of the game is the ending. All that work and you get 6 words of thanks. Contra's ending was short but you still felt good about it.
Right now I'm plowing my way through the Second Quest without the help of the internet. I do have a map downloaded long long ago that I could use but I'd rather have the joy of doing it on my own. I've already beaten up to Level-3. I know where 4 is and am heading that way. How many people here have beaten the Second Quest? What are your favorite memories of this video game classic? (BTW. how many heart containers are there out in the world? I can fill my life up with 15 hearts and there is always room for one more, am I missing one?) |

Awesome game. One of the best ever for the time it was released.
Yes, you are missing a heart container somewhere. There are 16. |

Re: The Legend of Zelda Thread (NES)
ive beaten both multiple times. so much fun. second quest is alot better because of the difficulty increase that becomes apparent later on (except for level 9, which actually gets easier imo).

Way back in the day, I remember drawing my own map of the world, which had pretty good detail. Fun times.

As big a Zelda fan as I am, I don't think I ever played it. First one I played was a Link to the Past.

Re: The Legend of Zelda Thread (NES)
Argh, now I have to look online to see where it was I missed. I've played the game so many times that I do it by memory, hence why I only make it to 15 every time. I can't imagine anyone ever picking the medicine over the heart container, ever.

Re: The Legend of Zelda Thread (NES)
Awesome game. But I need to go back and play it again on my own. Back when I was like 10 years old my friend who had the maze or puzzle or whatever it is for gannon memorized beat it for me, although I played up to that point. Never played it since but damn I wish I would have insisted that I figure it out myself. This game was truely awesome and not just because the cartridge matched the color of the party poker suede jacket lining.
