you said he tells the truth more than 50% of the time he talks a/b his hand, so check behind and if he checks again then he's prob full of [censored]. [/ QUOTE ] I should have mentioned that he pounces on weakness a fair bit. I don't think he's checking many rivers. Ryan |

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
why do you think hes calling the flop and folding to a turn push?

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
He could have been calling to see if I'll fire again. I have a very tight image. I think that he thinks that if I put 400 BBs in, I have something real good, and since I've coldcalled twice preflop, it ain't AA/KK (not that I'd want to get 400 BBs in w/ that postflop in most cases but he doesn't know that).

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
I guess but what are we putting him on if we're going to do that? Air? He could easily have AA/KK and be ahead. The only thing he could have that I would beat is a missed flush draw or 98 or something.

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
IME w/ this many draws on the board, i dont trust anyone to fold an overpair w/ this much already in the pot. also if you think he's firing most rivers he'll be committing himself so there's prob more value in stacking him every time you hit by checking behind than in semi-bluffing anyway.

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
I think you're ignoring too much my image. Image means a ton when you're playing live. People notice when you're tight. Would you stack off 400 BBs w/ AA or KK unimproved on the turn against what you consider to be a tight nit?

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
Depends if I think my nitty opponents are willing to stack for 400BBs with JTs one pair or not.

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
Bobbo is crazy for saying reraise preflop first time around. Call first time, call second time, call the flop too.
Now that you have raised I would definitely push the turn. Otherwise I'd find the flop raise really bad. I think he will call the flop and fold the turn often. Don't know why James would say that's unlikely. edit: and you have 38% equity against an overpair. TT really isn't likely at all. I think checking is horrible. edit again: and if you check and the river bricks you can never call a push obv. That would be beyond bad. |

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
I think gambling on someone at a 1/2 table to fold an overpair is generally a bad idea esp after they've committed 1/4 of their stack but since this guy is tight then I think either a flop raise or turn raise should do the trick, I'm almost leaning towards calling the flop and raising turn..
hmm its hard tyo say without more of a postflop read. |
