Default FT $5.50 AJs Early - Terrible play throughout?

No real reads on villian other than listed as a fish on sharkscope. The table in general was loose and I decided to see a flop cheap as I wasn't sure if I would be able to limit this field without a huge bet.

On the flop, I decided to call to try to hit my nut flush and get more money in the pot. I didn't want to get reraised out of the hand either, but I am wondering now if I should have taken control of the hand on the flop.

My question is what should I do on the turn and was my prior play poor?

fwiw, i fold pre but a limp is fine too. i 3 bet the flop, very drawy board, even though we got the flush draw there is 3 to a straight and the turn brings 4 to a straight and then villain pots it, his flop bet is screaming i want a cheap card to me , dont give it to him

I'm personally raising the flop at least a little, if for no other reason than to check through on these type of turns. As you played I'm folding this turn fast. It's an important skill in poker to be able to go from "oh man my hand is so good. top pair top kicker and the nut flush draw" to "i think i'm beat" in a matter of seconds.

I bet at least 150 on that flop.

You have a monster on the flop, TPTK + .nut NFD.

I would raise strongly here.

As playedI think here rarely bets the turn without the T or a better hand than ours and I fold.

Raise to 200 on the flop
As played fold the turn, your TPTK is probably no good and you aren't getting odds for your flush draw.

Raise the flop. Fold to pot bet on turn.

Preflop: Raise to 200. Your hand is currently most likely best, and you have position.

Shove that flop as even if you are behind, you have 14 outs and a bunch of fold equity. DO NOT leave a chip on the table.

I'd also raise this preflop and look to get it in on the flop.

As played though, you should be raising this flop to about pot ~300.

I am surprised by everyone's eagerness to raise PF. AJs is not that strong a hand and I am happy to see a flop cheaply with position.

I agree that we should become very aggressive on that flop and also agree that as played, we need to fold on the turn.
