Re: give me quick plo tourney tips
[ QUOTE ]
getting serious action on flopping a set is often bad news. [/ QUOTE ] In a tournament I would be more inclined to treat a set as the nuts-- not only because you'll be more relatively short stacked but because people are so [censored] bad at Omaha they'll get it in with worse. |

Told you I was not much cop at PLO, but I did qualify this with 'deep' [/ QUOTE ] True Couple more things-- preflop: double suited four connected or close = nuts AA = nuts AA double suited = the super-nuts flop: set = nuts wrap draw = nuts wrap and flush draw = nuts etc. etc. As long as you remember PLO is about sets, straights, and flushes, you'll be fine. |

i'm so used to never doing this, but a lot of people are doing it in mp and even lp. are they just donks, or is this fine strategy? |

also, what about open limping? i'm so used to never doing this, but a lot of people are doing it in mp and even lp. are they just donks, or is this fine strategy? [/ QUOTE ] This is a function of stacks. I play much less PLO than I do PLO8 but I'll limp with hands and stacks that I'm happy to call a raise with. IMO (but, [censored] me listen more to people who play more and higher) raises define your hand incredibly and are very exploitable. Calling pot bets in position is money. Let's say you get a suited wrap in ep and you're pot raised, well we, by and large, know what villain's got, the pot is big, we miss the flop and check fold. Say we limp and we're raised... That said, most limpers are just donkeys. I'm basing most of advice on failing to win anything when playing big hands fast pre-flop. Decent players fold before you've committed them and you find yourself committed to your big pair too often. That said, this is all about when we have a stack to play two streets. When shallow, MLG's advice is money. |
