Some people are just entirely convinced that they are smarter than everyone else and can get away with it no matter how many times they are proven wrong.

So does this mean that last year when i went from a few hundred to over 35k in omaha last year on UB and then a doomswitch suddenly went on? and ppl were folding aces full to my quads and showing, does that mean i will get compensated for all of that money?

the quads fold

I've taken home ~half a mil from AP. I don't think they are total frauds, but I've obviously been stolen from by them in this debacle and I suspect small thefts in the past may have taken place as well....

3) "Employee showing hole to mgmt" most retarded lie ever?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think it's a pretty good lie. They needed to get an explanation that the casual player would accept and that could not be disproven easily. They know the HH has been outed so they fabricate a story that can be used to explain that while ignoring the other claims that indicate this is an ongoing problem. They address as little as possible while getting a semi-positive headline.

[/ QUOTE ]

this is 100% true...have we just passed the point at which AP getting positive PR will soften the blow of whatever dramabombs are waiting to be dropped? mb N and Adanthar can drop knowledge plzzzzzzz?

Also, in order to get mainstream media cable news channels to cover this in a way that is more critical of AP is impossible without it immediately launching into an attack against all online poker. Not saying whether this is a cumulative positive or negative, but I think it is all or nothing, realistically, pr-wise for online gaming as a whole.

1) It's a well written story and seems accurate to both parties stories.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep.

2) This is exactly the weaksauce story by Absolute we expected.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep.

3) Blaming it on some rogue hacker inside their system fails to account for just about any of the facts we already know.

FYP

Seriously. The 'geek' played on AJ Green's account? From Scott Tom's home? Doesn't account for superuser 363. Doesn't account for the obvious coverup already underway.

lies lies lies lies lies lies lies lies lies lies lies

This is putting me on life-tilt.

Also, the MSNBC story suggests that this guy did not cash out and he did this to demonstrate a hole in the software... completely white hat. If that is the case, why sue him? He did it to help them!

Also, they can say he never cashed out and just return the money from their own pockets. No one would be the wiser and the thief would be quite well off.

Seriously, does anybody believe this? The ripped this excuse right out of a poorly written Die Hard movie. The only thing missing is Bruce Willis blowing up Absolute Poker and yelling "Yippee Ki Yay Mother [censored]!!"

All,

I hate to say this, but I think this is going to be a hollow victory. There's such a lack of visibility into who controls what in this basically unregulated (except by shams like KGC) industry that "AP" could be dissolved and these same guys could easily be running other operations, except they'll probably be more careful now.

This is assuming AP even bothers to dissolve in the first place.
