Default NL vs PL at same level at PokerStars

Which is generally considered to have softer competition, NL or PL games of the same level at PokerStars?

Yeah, the people who voted for NL probably aren't even smart enough to *spell* "moron"...

BB,

Since at the stakes I play PL games rarely if ever get going on PS, I am just going to speak to PL vs NL in general. PL requires more technical soundness and attracts more players who aren't very good but are scared of committing/losing their stack in one hand or one street. Thus for the good player, PL is usually the better game. As much as position is important in NL, it is even more so in PL where you don't have the option out of position of making an allin move or overbet when the stacks are still large relative to the pot. Which means for example that when you bluff the river you more often in PL have to consider whether your opponent will then bluff raise, whereas you can deny him that option in NL.

Hi BluffTHIS!

Thanks for this bit of NL v. PL observation. I am constantly perusing the forums for posts such as this. I notice you are dangerously close to 10k posts... perhaps a BluffTHIS 10k NL v. PL seminar?

I am relatively new to cash games (okay... relatively new to winning at cash games) and have found the PL6Max to be more my speed than the NL6Max. I'd love to hear anything you have to say on the subject.

Cheers,
Rob
