100NL, small flush on a 4 straight river
Pretty new to the table, villian was running about 35/10/3.5 from datamined stats.

Shove, he's not folding a straight with the 15-1 odds he'll be getting.

Re: 100NL, small flush on a 4 straight river
Shove it all the way. If you're afraid of losing to a higher flush, then don't play those hands to begin with. You made the hand you're looking for, and the board hasn't paired so you have to assume that you're good here.

Doyle would have folded this, but I say shove and it's not even close, especially with villians stats.

Re: 100NL, small flush on a 4 straight river
I think that 3 betting the turn would have been too much. It's sad he only min-raised, but good he put more money in. It's hard for me to say which play is best on the river because yours worked so perfectly. I have a hard time checking these hands on the end. I don't like not getting paid, and personally I would have probably bet it, but that doesn't mean my play is correct. Calling the turn then betting out the blank on the river (unless playing a 6) seems just as fishy as 3 betting the turn to me, if not more so.
I like your comment Joker, made me smile. Doyle wasn't playing in a .50/1 online table though I'm ready to see what others think about all this. |

Re: 100NL, small flush on a 4 straight river
I didn't feel too great on the way I got to this river which was probably the main reason of posting this hand.
Is it too obvious that I have a flush if I b3b the turn? That's what I thought at the time so I decided to call, but he only min-raised so it felt criminal not getting more money in the pot. Also, say you played the hand the way I did up until the river, do you think it's better to go for a river CR or just lead the turn as he may call bets with several 2 pair hands and not bet them if checked to? |
