Default Live tournament ethics question

I'm UTG and short stacked. I fold. During the hand, the BB gets eliminated.
On the following hand, instead of making me post the BB with a dead small, the dealer has me post small (and the guy to my left big). Nobody notices or cares. Should I stand up and say "wait, it's my big blind"?

In some casinos, this is actually the correct way to move the button. If this is not the policy at this casino, then what you did is slightly unethical, but nothing too egregious.

I'm not aware of any casino in which the Op would only have to post a small blind. Even if using a forward moving button rule the OP would have to post the large blind first and the next hand he would post a small blind on the button.

(of course I seem to remember a bunch of online sites that would allow you to escape the blinds)

this or something very close to it is what happens on pokerstars. I only play cash games but can't imagine it's different.

This is the long-standing Party button bug! It's not the dead button or the moving button rule - it's just a mistake.

you're still obligated to post your big blind first in a dead button scenario, so yes you should have said something

Yea, it's wrong. I know because I felt bad about it after it happened to me. Short stacked in what was for me a large buy-in. Justice was severed on my next UTG when my all in TT was called by 99 and lost...lol

All I can say is this is one of the ridiculous rules that Greektown casino uses in Detroit - they simply move the button to the next player and if you happen to benfit from missing the blind so be it - I gave up quickly trying to hold a conversation with the floor over this.
