$100 NL - min raised on the turn with medium pocket pair
I'm playing on my laptop in the living room (so no PT PAHUD). I've only played about 10 hands so far at this table. I'm my experience, most weak players that call when i blind steal usually had two face cards. I'll assume they're weak until proven to me. In this hand i put this player on TJ - KQ.
I've logged around 10k so far at 100NL and am slighly in the red. I think these potential mistakes might be the cause. Thanks for your help. After the turn rr I would have folded. If I did call the turn like in the above I would have definetly folded this river bet by the sb.

Fold to turn minraise. Standard baluga theorem.

Re: $100 NL - Min Raied on the turn with medium pocket pair
OP,
consider checking the flop. i don't mind your flop play or your turn cbet (as long as you intended to check behind on the river), but i think you are crushed when he minraises the turn and that you have to drop your hand there. smut, i think calling the minraise on the turn and then folding to the tiny river bet is pretty bad. |

You can't make these calldowns without a read.

Re: $100 NL - min raised on the turn with medium pocket pair
"consider checking the flop"
Would you mind explaining why? Not doubting you or anything, just curious. I'd think you'd want to bet to stop KJ/QJ/all those hands from getting a free shot to pair the overcards wouldn't you? |

It's a $9 pot, what are you trying to protect?

[/ QUOTE ] there is certainly some risk attached to checking behind because our hand is vulnerable, but protecting one's hand at all costs is not a good way to play poker. this is a decent flop to check behind on, because our hand is probably best but can't stand pressure and worse hands will often fold to a flop bet. |
