Re: KK vs. TAG, AQx flop
Looks fine, checking behind the turn to see a cheap showdown if behind and to induce bluffs or bad valuebets on the river.
On the river, betting of course looks fine, but checking at first looks like a decent option. But the tag villain would probably as a default play bet his aces or queens on the river and check his lower pocket pairs, so betting for value looks good. Why I say default is that since you have 200 hands on him, he probably has 200 hands on you as well and could have some kind of read on you - whatever it is - that he feels confident that you'll bet and try to get in a sexy checkraise. I see that from time to time, even if it may be dubious play in this specific case. On the other hand, what would you not bet here? A busted broadway gutshot? Well, you would fold those anyway if he bet, so it's more likely that you'll bluff with those than you'll call with them. Lower pocket pairs? You would probably have bet the turn with those to deny free cards and since they are easier to fold to a turn checkraise. With KK or JJ you would probably check behind the turn like you did here and bet the river. I may be over-analyzing this, but I'm just saying that if he's a strong player and has a good read on you, it's at least not impossible that he could make a play like this, going for a river checkraise with a good hand. But I would of course never check behind here on this river in practice, but it was my 2 cents anyway. |

Re: KK vs. TAG, AQx flop
I like it too, but I am obsessed with the question: what do you do if he raises?

Re: KK vs. TAG, AQx flop
If he raises, we just toss it into the muck (I am anyway)
Guys, why this line over bet/fold, check? |

how about if he leads out on the river? [/ QUOTE ] super easy call [ QUOTE ] If he raises, we just toss it into the muck (I am anyway) [/ QUOTE ] this is exploitable, you have to call at least sometimes. |

why this line over bet/fold, check? [/ QUOTE ] I like it better because a) This guy looks pretty aggro so far (short sample, I know), so we might well induce a riverbluff from KJ, KT or JT, and he may try to make a play on us on the turn with these hands as well. b) We still have a two outer if behind |
