About 1:40 into this clip is perhaps the most fantastic look on a woman's face ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. That was kind of hot.

And regardless of the fact that he's had some training. he's still just a dude with a regular job. Pretty impressive.

QFT ... being able to do that to a woman with just your voice would be awesome

Weird, it totally looks like he's just lip-syncing to me. I thought this was some fake-cut trailer. Then I realized it's actually what happened on the show and I don't understand why everyone loves the guy who lip-synced. Oh well, I guess he wasn't. Sure sounded like a recording, though -- I'd need to hear it without the backing orchestra.

Agreed. If I had that much reverb added to my voice, I could take a crack at a song like that.

OK, maybe not, but you see my point.

My wife was watching the American version of this show tonight. All contestants sang a capella, with a very unforgiving mic that caught every sharp inhale.

Let's see Brit Boy try his hand at that.

For all those that seem to think Paul is a pro in disguise, please realise the following. (or maybe just unfamiliar with what an opera singer or opera company is).

- Bath Opera is an amateur opera company staging a small number of productions a few times each year.
- Paul has performed in just 4 four productions with this company
- Paul has attended some masterclasses in Italy. These courses are designed for talented amateurs. All of these are paid for by those attending.
- A few masterclasses, even one with the great man do not constitute "a formal opera training" by any stretch of the imagination.
- Professional opera singers earn their living by treading the boards night after night week-in week-out, year after year with professional opera companies.
- Paul, has never earned a single penny from opera performance, other than winning a tv talent show in 1999 - the winnings funding masterclasses.
- Paul has not performed since 2003.
- He is not a professional opera singer pretending to be a mobile phone sales man, but rather he is a mobile phone salesman aspiring to be an opera singer.

That's a great story for that guy.

Forget that though, I think I'm in love with the woman on the middle of the judging panel. Who is she? If that's Britain's version of Paula Abdul then the Brits have us crushed on this one.

Firefox + adblocker ftw

[/ QUOTE ]

You'll notice that both were in effect here, check the bottom corner. Unless you guys have some amped-up version of Adblock I'm not privy to.

[/ QUOTE ]

Adblock worked fine, after I manually blocked them out of course. I guess you just have to have seen that URL before...

[/ QUOTE ]

Adblock Plus Filterset.G Updater - No need to do it manually
