Default Boring standard spot, $200 NL

Don't have an actual hand history but this has been happening a lot lately. Assume villain is basically unknown but is probably bad, 30/10/2 type stats over a smallish sample with no real reads. I used to autoraise these river bets but they seemed to call a lot so I stopped. Now a suddenly a bunch of players have started taking this line again.

100 BBs effective

Hero is button with TJ and raises $7 BB calls.

Flop is Q 6 2 rainbow. Hero bets $11 BB calls.

Turn is is a 4, completes rainbow board, check, check.

River is a 9, villain bets $12, Hero is annoyed.

Maybe people are suddenly just good at flopping top pair I don't know.

fold river, super standard. switch it up with a delayed cbet or a double barrel every now and again.

i would never ever bluff river after getting to it this way, they just will not believe you.

I'd fire the turn pretty much as standard as he will call the flop with a 6 and fold the turn mostly

OK just checking to make sure. Just seems like I was letting these guys off too easily when they make these 1/3 or 1/4 size blocking type bets.

guys like that always bet small, it's because they suck, not necessarily because they have a weak hand

im probably not doubling vs. this guy (though sometimes you can get them to fold their 88) on the turn, i probably just give up by the river. he has like Q3s or something.

If I had not been very active, I like firing two here.

It puts some pressure on him two call two streets. If called, I'm probably not firing the third shell.

As played, I just give this one up.

is there anything else we can do besides give up? this has been happening to me a lot as well. After a while it messes with how agressive you can be at a certain table.

Def sucks when these players are in position on you too. They dont fold to any flop bet.
