Default 200NL: TPNK plays pot control on the flop

very first hand at the table. all villains unknown.

Party Poker, $1/$2 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker Hand History Converter

SB: $134.58
BB: $60
UTG: $200
MP: $40
Hero (CO): $200
BTN: $205

UTG posts $2
MP posts $2
Hero posts $2
Pre-Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (CO)
UTG checks, MP checks, Hero raises to $12, BTN folds, SB calls $11, 3 folds
Hero posts after UTG and UTG+1. A4o is at the very very bottom of my raising range here. not sure it's +EV but there's a ton of dead money in the pot and my position is good.
Flop: ($30) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero checks
I debate betting here but i think my hand has more value as a bluff catcher here and i might get more value by checking flop. really not sure about this.
Turn: ($30) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets $10, Hero calls $10
standard i think. villain could be bluffing/value betting worse and there's no value in raising.
River: ($50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $25
Given the fact that i've played so weak on previous streets i think there's some value in value betting hoping to get called by 99/TT, no? or do i usually get called by better (ie Ax)?

I don't see any value on the river. I doubt you get called by worse and see Ax a lot.

i love this line until the river, you get 0 value from worse hands IMO, just check behind

I disagree. I think small pocket pairs look you up here, while an ace our queen will bet.

I'd rather just bet the flop since that fits better into my overall gameplan.

Looks good. The river looks very thin, but given the situation (poster on poster) I think you get looked up by any pair and a Q would have probably bet the river.

FLOP is GOOT. Betting the river is also goot.

you should fit in some checking behind into your gameplan then. if you're firing 100% of the time on the flop, then you're gameplan is exploitable.

Well i'm checking some of the time obviously.

I'd RATHER just bet the flop though.

Why? I'd rather check behind here nearly all the time.
