Home Game Tourney Structure
Our home game is trying something new...
We are running a $10+1 tourney every Friday for five Fridays... On the sixth Friday will be the Championship Tourney, where the entry will again be $10 but all the "+1's" from the first five weeks will be added to the purse. Starting chips for the Championship will be based on the average points accumulated during the first five tournies. EXAMPLE: Tourney #1 ended as follows... Kevroc 1st 50pts Gorebo 2nd 40pts JGreek 3rd 30pts DavJew 4th 20pts Celest 5th 10pts My question for discussion is how to use the points/chips/blinds in the best possible way? Thanks in Advance for any replies! |

"My question for discussion is how to use the points/chips/blinds in the best possible way?" That depends on what this means to you [/ QUOTE ] I'm looking for a way that the chip count accurately reflects the point total without too much or too little of an advantage/disadvantage. The perfect ratio is what I'm after. |

Re: Home Game Tourney Structure
How many chips do you guys play with normally?
Do you want the ME to have a lot more chips then normal? Here's what we do in our league: We play with 1.5K stacks every Saturday night (blinds start at 5/10, 30 min rounds). We usually get 16-22 people. 1st place gets 15 points, 2nd gets 13, 3rd gets 10, and it goes down from there. The top 11 points winners get entry into the finale. They get 100 chips for every point. Players make it in with 20-60 points, so stacks would range from 2K to 6K. In the finale I played in, the biggest stack was 4.7K and I started with 2.3K and took it down, so it is possible to overcome the bigger stacks. We also played with 45 min rounds in the finale. Have fun! -Ron |

Re: Home Game Tourney Structure
Thats pretty cool Ron.
We play a much different structure in our normal game. We start with 50 chips (colors do not matter). Blinds are 1/2 and the bottom number moves up everytime someone gets eliminated. I hate going by time.. (people stall or chit-chat) But, for the ME, I'd like to switch it up and make it time-based and larger stacks. |
