fair enough, but what if the middle card was something like a 9... i guess my point is that it's not bad to check-behind with your weak aces here. you're not giving up much value at all on this dry board. and in fact might gain some value by being able to get 2 streets of value by looking weaker on teh flop and getting value our of middle pair hands on the turn and river. And if you're never checking behind wiht an ace here, then on the rare chance that u play with a villain alot, he can probably exploit this tendancy. but whatever...balancing is a subtle art. gl

Isn't a Q like KQ nearly the exact same in value as A4. I check this dry of a flop very often and play bluff catcher. I don't mind the river bet even if we never really get called.

If SB bet bigger on the turn I'd consider checking behind on the river since he shows up with a better Ax so much here, but as is I really like the way you played this hand.

i disagree about checking behind on the river. our line is so weak we will get looked up by any pair here imo. a PP or an 8 or a 6
