First of all it's ulterior, second the guys a poker player, he deals with folks that have ulterior motives all the time, so that shouldn't be a problem.

where do u live now?

friend of mine moved to LV (from NYC...but not to play poker) 6 months ago and she is dying to get out of there. its a cultural wasteland and people are just 'wierd' there....too many degenerates, lowlifes, dirtbags, someone always has an alterior motive there. it might be ok to go there for a weekend, but after a while that city just kills you.

AC has no nightlife really (if u compare it to NYC, LA, or LV) and the city itself is just shambles...living just 30 minutes outside of AC would be awesome if u werent 25...though some places are good in the summer (jersey shore), in the winter theyre ghost towns. you can always try philadelphia (about 45min to 1hr away).

live in San Francisco. play there during the week. get a Southwest Visa. fly to Burbank and Vegas out of Oakland on Southwest every other weekend. Oakland and Burbank are really easy airports to deal with. (McCarron sucks.)

that way you don't have to live in Vegas or L.A.

I'm debating this same question. I live in new jersey but wanna get away for alil. I think im gonna go with socal for now. I looked on craiglist and roomates.com and there are alot of rooms for rent from 500-1000 in the la area. Atleast for the first few months im gonna do this untill i really get used to the area and decide its where i wanna call home. Dont get stuck in a 12 month lease and then be stuck somewhere u dont wanna be. ALso in vegas they have a place called Budgetsuites, check out the website its not bad

Vegas is much more of a town than Atlantic City. You go right outside the casinos in AC and it is basically a slum. Vegas is much more of a town than AC is, but AC has nice areas that are not in the immediate vicinity. Between the two Vegas is much more of a town with more of a nightlife than AC, plus there are more places to play. Strictly between Vegas and AC, I would say Las Vegas. If you have never been to AC or Vegas I would suggest planning trips to both to see what you like first.

Hey, I wasn't sure, is Vegas a town??

SF itself blows, but there are a lot of somewhat livable cities in other parts of the bay area. It's really not any cheaper than L.A. though. I've tried the fly-to-Vegas-to-play thing. Even with a super discount fare, all the costs still add up to a couple hundred bucks, if you DON'T stay overnight. You have to play pretty big to make that work out over time.
