AQ river line check. 50NL
Looking for a river line here. Villain is 52/2 after 205 hands. No previous history between us. Criticism appreciated on previous streets as well.

Re: AQ river line check. 50NL
You have to decide this on the turn.. since you called the turn, you have to call a river bet on this blank. You can make a blocking bet of around $11 if you want to, but I think I like to check/call here just because KQs or something is so much a part of his range and he'll probably fire another barrel if checked to.
You can stop these problems by folding the turn though.. preferably bet/folding. Bet around 9 and fold to a raise. |

Re: AQ river line check. 50NL
IŽd bet fold the turn. imo this is the best line because villain seems to be a station from his stats... at this level you can usually guess how sb play post flop by looking at his preflop stats...

Re: AQ river line check. 50NL
Raise to $3 preflop. As played I'm not sure if I like the turn check. He might have a FD and u don't wanna give free cards. If he raises the turn I would think about folding.

Re: AQ river line check. 50NL
As played I think a value bet of about $16 is normally good here especially against a villain whose stats are 52vpip.
I would have fired the turn though, you dont want villain hitting a possible straight / flush for free. If he were to reraise your turn bet you could conceivably get away from the hand as well. |

Re: AQ river line check. 50NL
River is a complete blank, so based on your turn play it looks like you can't fold in any event. Since you're not folding anyway and he's a calling station, you might as well bet. It might even save you a little money against a better hand (you check, he bets for more than you would have, you call).

Re: AQ river line check. 50NL
Why are you checking the turn against a calling station? You bet for value. That's how you beat them. Plenty of draws and no reason to think your beat. Plus, betting the turn makes this hand a lot easier. When you check you have no idea where you're at.
If you're going to raise this hand OOP, then you have to play it strong when you hit. Otherwise what's the point of raising? If you're just going to shutdown you are going to get a lot pots stolen or get drawn out on. As played, you could make a blocking bet of $10-$12 or check call a reasonable bet. Both are fine plays here. |

Re: AQ river line check. 50NL
As you played it I think you have to c/c a river bet (or c/f the turn).
I often c/c this turn, but I really think betting is better. Even mega-aggro-tards have been checking behind turns with FDs on me recently (wtf?!) |
