Re: What is the greatest sporting event you have attended?
The Mariner's winning the 1-game playoff vs. The CA Angels to finally end nearly 20 years of frustration in 1995. Randy Johnson was lights-out. Goofy little league grand-slam home-run by Luis Sojo.
Interesting to hear that 2+2'ers were at Borg-McEnroe '80 and the '73 Belmont. Likely the high-point in the history of their sports, IMO. Possibly Texas/SC Rose Bowl as well, If I read that post right. |

Re: What is the greatest sporting event you have attended?
too tough to pick only one. These aren't world-series big obviously but I thought they were some really incredible games:
10 seed Miami (Ohio) led by Wally Szezberiak goes to Sweet 16 with upsets of Washington and Utah. Was courtside at Superdome for both games. Tenn vs. Ark football, 2003, 6 OT's (8th row) 1992 Ohio H.S. football playoff upset Talawanda upsets Princeton on ridiculous last-second 4th and 23 heave with receiver dragging 2 tacklers downfield for the winning score completing an already incredible game. The original receiver got flipped head-over-heels upon contact and it deflected to a teammate who picked it out of the air Franco Harris style and took off. Reds/Mets 1986, 14 innings. Mets run out of players following ejections from brawl in 10th inning and have to use pitchers in OF. Roger McDowell went from P to OF and then back to P in that game. |

Re: What is the greatest sporting event you have attended?
Fall 2002, Nebraska vs PSU in Happy Valley. Nebraska came in for a night game ranked #1 and got absolutely stomped. I was also at the OSU game in 05 and for me it didn't even compare. The Nebraska game and a few others triggered much stricter stadium rules and pretty much ended throwing things. I think I got hit with a thing of nachos and some fruit punch later and didn't really care.
That season started out so great, LJ dominating, MRob involved in some nice trick plays, the Johnson's catching balls. F U Mills |

I went to the Pedro return game to at Fenway.
I'd have to say the Final 4 last year as the greatest. |

Re: What is the greatest sporting event you have attended?
I was at Game 4 of the 2006 ALCS. The Magglio Walk-off was an amazing experience.
Hopefully one of the Michigan home football games will be great this year, the best game we had last year (closest most competitive) was against Ball St. |

11/21/1992 - Apple Cup - "The Snow Bowl" - Pullman, WA
Washington State vs Washington Drew Bledsoe vs Mark Brunell Video Clip [ QUOTE ] In a game that was to be remembered as the "Snow Bowl," the Cougars dominated the Huskies and in the process clinched a berth to the Copper Bowl. One of the most remembered plays in WSU history occurred in this game when Drew Bledsoe hit Phillip Bobo with a 44-yard touchdown pass that concluded with Bobo sliding in to a snow bank at the end of the endzone. Shaumbe Wright-Fair rushed for 194 yards, averaging 8.7 yards per carry, and scored on runs of 3, 51 and 41 yards.
