It gets better. The second time, he laid down the aces to a David Williams open raise! Of all the people to NOT lay down aces to, David is in the top 3. If $15,000 is life-changing money to you, perhaps tournament poker is not your thing...

[/ QUOTE ]
What the f does David Williams have to do with laying down Aces preflop? If it's Ivey you can consider folding them?

[/ QUOTE ]
I think the point was more that someone like David Williams would be a good candidate to play back at with a good hand that isn't AA, since DW likely has crap and is trying to abuse the bubble.

[/ QUOTE ]
In fact, the opposite is true. You want to be up against a loose caller with AK.

[/ QUOTE ]

OK-I was thinking in terms of re-raising and taking down an easy pot when DW throw away his 83o. You want the double-up scenario, which is better

I liked how his basis for this strategy was that he once got his AA cracked on a satellite bubble and was crippled, and got knocked out the next hand, so now on the bubble he lays down AA each time. Wow, I'm still in shock.

He was stupid. He lost in a multi table satellite. Of course you fold aces in that situation. As long as you "place" it doesn't matter.

In this situation. Calling with aces...little bit hard. If he has a reraise option, he should totally do it. There is a good chance other guy is just abusing bubble and you can get some chips.

I'm horrified at his play. I would reraise all in first time ...talk that i have aces and i'll show. They will fold. I would reraise second time and do same thing.

He did not consider the fold equity he was getting.

Courtesy of Cardplayer.com:

Ed Pellegrini Eliminated 11th ($70,000)
Ed Pellegrini gets all in for his last $97,000 preflop with AK from under the gun. Amir Shayesteh makes the call from the small blind and shows KK. The board comes 5433Q and Pellegrini has been eliminated from the tournament.

-They called this guy the "Cajun Squeeze" b/c of this bubble incident. Nice profit from your satellite sir.

I am in utter shock. Never before in my life have I thought someone could be THAT absolutely horrendous at poker.

I love how he says "it just looked like I didn't know what I was doing".

And how he talks about how NOW that the bubble has burst he's going to try and win the thing (since you should be doing everything you can on the bubble to accumulate chips when most idiots, like him, are scared of going home)

Granted, I guess if you got in with a $100 satellite or whatever and you stand to win 15 grand, well, it's a big deal to you. But ugh, I just can't believe these plays.

nothing wrong with that. I am under assumption he wants to finish in the money. Thus if i were him and i wanted to finish in the money (instead of doing the best play)...i would do that. For me, as with everyone else, i just want chips to win.

lol. I love the interview with the guy along with williams and the other guy giving their opinions. It's so clear that David thinks the guy is a giant moron. Knowing david, he probably raised every time it folded to him (as I would do).
